Challenge:

  1. Taking action focused on sustainable development – the desire to manifest a policy of environmental and social responsibility.
  2. Taking care of a large and diverse group of recipients of manufactured products.
  3. High level of awareness of the requirements of the circular economy and the EU CSRD Directive.

For this project, we had the following client materials at our disposal:

1. Used vinyl banners – remnants of promoted events, various dimensions, textures, colors
2. Textile pennants
3. External (including waterproof) and internal textile with various textures
4. Textile flags

Implementation:

  1. The primary value of the project: combining the activities of the promotion department of the Regional Center for Transfer and Technology with individual departments of the West Pomeranian University of Technology.
  2. Goal: sharing their approach to sustainable development with employees of both Institutions and the student community
  3. Project assumptions: Using all materials left over from the communication activities of the institutions in recent years:
    • Engagement of various departments in joint activities,
    • Educational campaign,
    • Combination of eco-activities with integration activities
    • Inclusion and involvement in the activities of the Center – the student community
  4. Presented proposal: products made of soft textiles and vinyl, a total of 60 kg of materials:
    • adapted to contractors
    • adapted to the needs of the employee and student community
    • diversity of products in terms of their purpose and the possibilities and flexibility of the material
  5. Customer choice:
    – fanny packs
    – document folders
    – drawstring bags/cases
    – covers for suits and gowns
    – simple beach bags

• Product description: over 720 pieces of utility items
• As a bonus, pillowcases were made from historical flags decorating Dean’s Offices

Results:

The physical and tangible benefit is the “new” products which in this case went to students and employees, and were gifts for guests visiting the University.

For the organizers, this campaign, the name “Utilized”, became an inspiration for further interesting challenges.

Thanks to these activities, marketing communication was also created on the value of activities focusing on the reuse of materials and their importance for the university’s policy: “The West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin as a UNIVERSITY FOR GREEN INDUSTRY is not a hoax!”
